Who are we?
We are Cub Scout Pack 335 located in Wheaton, Illinois. We are chartered by Gary United Methodist Church, and are part of the Chanonee District of the Three Fires Council.  Most of our monthly pack meetings are held at Gary United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Main and Seminary Streets in downtown Wheaton, Illinois.  Your family and son are welcome to come to our monthly pack meeting to see what Pack 335 is all about.  For further details, please contact our Webmaster at Tom@pack335wheaton.org.

Where does Pack 335 meet?
Our pack meetings are held at Gary United Methodist Church, at the corner of Main and Seminary Streets in downtown Wheaton, Illinois.

When does Pack 335 meet?
Our pack meeting is usually held on the third Friday of each month during the school year (September through May).  Please check the schedule of events for specific dates.

Pack Committee Openings


Advancements - Technical (2 hrs/month)
The Technical Advancements chair receives progress for the month on the achievements of each Cub Scout from the Den Leader(s).  This information is loaded into an existing Excel file and output is given to the Advancements co-chair and Akela's Tales editor for awarding of advancements at the monthly pack meeting.

Treasurer (1 hour/month)
The Treasurer is responsible for writing checks, making bank deposits and balancing the Pack's checking account every month.  The Treasurer is also a member of the Pack Committee.

Assistant Cubmaster (1-2 hrs/month)
Runs pack meetings and outings if the Cubmaster is not available.  Assists the Cubmaster at monthly meetings as required.

Friends of Scouting Representative (5 hrs in March-April).  The FOS position coordinate the annual FOS drive for the Pack by getting family pledge cards organized and distributed to the dens and setting up a FOS presentation for the Pack.  The pledges/donations are collected, turned in to the FOS chairman at the designated time and prizes are distributed as warranted.

Popcorn Sale Coordinator (shadow this year)  (15-20 hrs total from Sept-Dec).  The popcorn coordinator (the "Kernel") facilitates the kick-off meeting, ordering popcorn for the pack, maintaining inventory and filling orders as dens make their sales.  Additionally, the coordinator helps set up shows and sales at local retailers, collecting money and ordering prizes for the Scout salespeople.

Committee Chair (shadow this year)  (3 hrs/month)
The committee chair is the main contact point with the Three Fires Council.  The chairperson facilitates meetings and sets the agenda for pack meetings.  This involves planning themes and activities for pack meetings and making sure tasks are delegated to committee members.  The committee chair also ensures that appropriate tour permits are in place for pack activities.

Akela’s Tales Editor (3 hrs/month)

The Akela’s Tales editor takes input from monthly committee meetings and the advancements co-chair (technical) to create an agenda / newsletter for the pack meeting. Copies need to be made and brought to the pack meeting 15 minutes before the meeting begins.
